Conveyor Drive Pulley Arrangements

1. Electric Drive Pulley

Geared electric motor with torque arm and pillow block style bearings

The torque arm is bolted to the electric motor. It prevents the engine from rotating as well as from sliding off the shaft.

The torque arm pin is generally welded to the conveyer frame and has a tapped hole in one end. A washer and nut are secured onto the end of it, and prevent the torque arm from sliding off the pin.

Pillow blocks are bearing housings. The chosen type of bearing can be inserted into the pillow block.

Drum stiffeners are generally steel plates welded to shaft and drum. They help strengthen the drum and shaft.

The section of shaft that inserts into the motor will have a keyway cut into it to suit the keyway size of the motor.
